The Hobart and William Smith Colleges Athletics Departments sponsor 23 intercollegiate athletic programs with over 600 student-athletes. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary sports medicine team that includes physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers who are committed to providing the best possible sports health care for HWS student-athletes.
The assistant athletic trainer works under the supervision of the Coordinator of Sports Medicine/ Head Athletic Trainer. The assistant athletic trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation within the Colleges comprehensive sports medicine program. This staff member will share in the supervision and development of student assistants; the coverage of team practices and contests; the communication between physicians, coaches and parents; and the computerized record keeping of injuries and treatment. Team travel, evening, and weekend work are required. Sport coverage assignments will be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
+ Bachelor?s degree in athletic training or appropriate area of specialization from an accredited institution required. Master?s degree in athletic training or related field preferred
+ Certification by the National Athletic Trainers? Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
+ Certification or eligibility for New York State Athletic Training Certification/ Licensure
+ A minimum of two years of experience as a certified athletic trainer in intercollegiate athletics is required
+ Knowledge of NCAA governing rules
+ Must have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with college student-athletes, coaches and administration within highly competitive NCAA multi-divisional intercollegiate athletics departments
Two positions available. These are full-time, 10-month, benefits-eligible administrative salaried positions. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
