SUMMARY:
Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for the position Director of Health and Wellness. This position will serve as a key educator-administrator and serve on the Campus Life leadership team.
The Director of Health and Wellness leads student services for the Colleges Hubbs Health Center and the Counseling Center (the Centers). The Centers are made up of a team of energetic and creative professionals committed to innovative, integrative, and preventative services and programming aimed at fostering the holistic development of our students. The Centers positively impact our campus community and serve our diverse student body with health care, counseling, consultation, proactive educational programing and outreach services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Oversee the administration of the Colleges student counseling and health services and provide leadership to the Centers professional staff, managing all aspects of office operations, service delivery, programs and initiatives. Manage the Hubbs Health Center and Counseling Center budget.
+ Mentor the Centers? professional staff by hiring, supervising, developing, training and evaluating staff in accordance with regulatory compliance and customer service goals.
+ Provide direct psychotherapy, including group therapy, services to students.
+ Develop and maintain a referral network for therapeutic and emergency services with area clinicians, mental health clinics, and hospitals.
+ Monitor students' care through coordination of services and referral to outside agencies when necessary. Assist in coordination of care for students after hospitalizations or mandated assessments by the Colleges.
+ Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and ensure a high standard of risk management. Directly provide or closely monitor the counseling of high risk students.
+ Provide leadership in times of crisis and participate as a member of the Colleges? crisis response team.
+ Design programs and services for a diverse student population, including racial and ethnic diversity, socio-economic status, nationality, physical and mental abilities, and sexual identity.
+ Ensure the Centers follow best practices including a trauma informed approach to serving survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and other sexual misconduct.
+ Collaborate with other departments and offices to proactively respond to student concerns including Athletics, Residential Education, Campus Safety, Intercultural Affairs, the Title IX Office and the Colleges? academic support services.
+ Participate in rotating after-hours on-call emergency coverage, including telephone and on-site consultation when necessary.
+ Participate with campus committees as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Graduate degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, or related field required; licensed or eligible to be licensed after hire in the State of New York required.
+ At least 6 years of progressively responsible full-time administrative experience in higher education or in a counseling environment focused on young adults.
+ Knowledge of and experience with programs and methods that comply with state and federal regulations, and promote best practices in college mental health and wellness.
+ Advanced clinical skills with a strong background in mental health crisis intervention and risk management.
+ Demonstrated strong clinical supervision skills.
+ Knowledge regarding psychological and health trends on college campuses. Knowledge of and experience working with the developmental concerns and health content areas relevant to traditional aged college students.
+ Solid departmental management skills, including budget management.
+ Strong recordkeeping management skills, maintaining accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions at the Centers. Competent in using electronic record systems/
+ Firm understanding of applicable laws and legal issues related to directing heath care centers. Strong commitment to maintain confidentiality, protect client?s rights, and ensure that all legal and ethical standards are upheld in the Centers.
+ Strong independent judgment, discretion and impeccable integrity.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships with members of diverse constituencies, and a successful track record of collaboration in achieving objectives.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative position. Normal campus office hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year and a possible shortened work week during the scheduled summer hours time period. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
