Responsibilities:
This student will work closely with Residential Education and student Residential Assistants (RAs) to improve sustainability in on-campus housing. This will include communicating with and providing a bridge between the Office of Sustainability and Residential Education; collaborating with RAs to plan and implement sustainable programming; identifying ways to make our residence halls more sustainable; and generally promoting sustainability as a way-of-life on campus.
Responsibilities:
+ Work with JPR and Sherrill RA staff to make their programming efforts more sustainable
+ Help plan and carry out at least TWO residential programs which are FOCUSED on sustainability (this could be for a specific floor, dorm or part of the After-Dark programming series)
+ Attend on RA meeting per month for JPR and Sherrill in order to meet and collaborate with RAs on their programming
+ Identify and carry out improvements to sustainability issues in the JPR residence hall complex. This includes (but is certainly not limited to) energy improvements such as delamping areas with excessive lights, making sure vending machines have auto shut-offs, and putting up flip-the-switch stickers
+ Help educate new students about general sustainability as well as sustainable transportation options on campus like ZipCar and the Yellow Bike program
+ Help administer compost buckets in residence halls (for interested students)
Special Skills Needed:
The student should have a basic knowledge of sustainability and environmental issues. The student should be approachable, outgoing, an excellent communicator, an organized planner and have strong leadership skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
